Gamers for Giving LAN Party

The stage is set.

As we type this message, streamers across the internet have begun fundraising in support of providing games to hospitalized families! Over $200K has been raised thus far!

For those of you joining us at the LAN this weekend, we wanted to provide a few final updates ahead of the big celebration.

THANK YOU

First, it's worth reflecting: it's been nearly 4 years (🤯) since we hosted our last LAN party. There's a sense of gratitude among the team right now. It feels real good to return. We can't wait to kick back and play some games with you. Thank you for attending!

HOUSE RULES

We've updated our Terms & Conditions for the event, which include COVID policies reflective of the area. Please familiarize yourself with the terms, as entering the venue confirms your agreement. Pages 7 & 8 contain a specific list of things that aren't allowed.

TLDR: be a nice person, respectful of others, and don't do anything illegal. Photos and video will be collected throughout the weekend, which may get posted online. Being present is a consent to photography, FYI! You can read the full terms here.

PREP YOUR EQUIPMENT

The bottom of the info page has a list of items to bring with you to the LAN party. Use this as a reference as you pack your PC/console!

As a piece of advice: we'd also recommend you update your PC and all the games you intend to play ahead of time. Save your precious event hours for actually gaming!

FOOD AND BEVERAGES

The arena will open concessions from 7 AM - 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a in-house Little Caesars booth, open from 6 PM - 9 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Aside from the concessions, you are welcome to bring your own snacks/food and beverages into the event. A number of restaurants & convenience stores exist in the area, and delivery apps can reach the venue.

The only rule here: alcohol is not allowed. If you get drunk during the event, we'll have to kick you out! 😛

DISCORD

Our Discord channel is where you can find event announcements and discussion. In addition to audio announcements, we'll use Discord to notify you of event activities. Tournament mods will also oversee channels to help you navigate through competitions you've registered for.

HOODIES & RAFFLE

Our sponsors have provided us with a variety of prizing to give away during the LAN party. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase. One ticket can be purchased for $5, or five tickets can be purchased for $20. As well, general contributions can be made at the Gamers Outreach booth within the LAN.

We've also got celebratory hoodies! Hoodies will be available for $40 (or $45 with credit card).

VENUE ACCESS

The venue doors will be locked and staffed by security each night at 11 PM. Only registered attendees/guardians will be allowed to enter.

VOLUNTEERS

If you have any questions, a number of volunteers and staff are present and eager to help you during the weekend.

SEE YOU SOON

That's all! If you're not able to attend the LAN this year, you can still support by making a donation online, creating a fundraising campaign, or spreading the word! Donations can be made here.

Thanks everyone! We're looking forward to seeing the impact you'll make for families receiving care! Our next blog post will celebrate THE FINAL TOTAL! See you on the other side!
