Red Bull gives you wiiings!

Providing the hook up to Gamers for Giving 2011 participants, Red Bull will be fully representing at this year’s event, giving free energy to competitors throughout the day. Alongside the ‘play the pros’ station outside the main venue hall will be a Red Bull bar – fully stocked with ice cold beverages for all attendees participating in the Halo Reach, Black Ops, Starcraft 2 tournaments and 100 person Console LAN.

Aside from their involvement with Gamers for Giving, Red Bull has been taking large steps to help progress the video game scene – recently sponsoring competitive gaming team “Status Quo,” and also producing a new series of invite-only events called the “Red Bull LAN.” Streamed through RedBullusa.com/LAN, the events bring together some of the world’s best gamers for intensive training sessions that help take their gaming abilities to the next level. With access to an incredible amount of resources, players engage in highly focused competitive training sessions, analyzing game play and making adjustments to their strategies during the course of a weekend. Red Bull will be streaming their next LAN event from New York City the weekend after Gamers for Giving, June 24th – 26th, over at Redbullusa.com/LAN. Gamers Outreach board member, David “Walshy” Walsh, will be one of the gamers featured during the event.

On another front, Red Bull has also recently partnered with The Entertainment Consumers Association (the advocacy group that represents consumers in the video game industry) to provide free annual memberships to individuals interested in joining the organization. The ECA provides a number of discounts and benefits to its members, and also represents the voice of game consumers in State and Federal legislation issues relevant to the video game industry. Registration for free memberships to The ECA can be found along the right side of the video game section of Red Bull’s website here.

We’re stoked to have Red Bull be a part of this year’s Gamers for Giving, and even more excited to see them helping to progress the video game industry! This Saturday, for all those competing in Gamers for Giving tournaments, Red Bull will be giving you wiiings!

Free LAN Seats!

Statistically speaking, we see the majority of attendee sign ups during the final week leading up to Gamers for Giving. As a thank you to those on the early end of this week’s registration rush, we’d like to extend the following special promotional offer –

The first 20 Halo Reach / Black Ops participants to register and pre-pay between now and Thursday will receive free seats for their team in our BYOC console LAN.

If you’re competing in Halo Reach or Call of Duty, and you want to keep your skills sharp throughout the day, or not have to worry about grabbing a warm up station – this is the perfect way to give yourself an extra edge over your opponents. The console LAN will have room for 100 individuals. Not only will you be able to stay fresh throughout the day, you’ll be able to enjoy games with other attendees and also play with some of this year’s special guests.

If this is an opportunity that interests your team, here’s what you’ll need to do…

+ Register your Halo Reach / Call of Duty team and pre-pay between now and Thursday (select ‘Checkout using Paypal’)

+ Post in our LAN Seating chart thread your team name, followed by the seats you’d like to reserve for your team.

We’ll be keeping a close watch on our registration to identify which lucky teams make the cut. As soon as the 20th give-away seat has been taken, we will post an update sharing the news. If your team does not make the cut, you can still register as normal to participate in the console LAN.

If your team has selected to ‘pay at the door,’ and you would like to take advantage of this offer, simply re-register your team and pre-pay.

Information on our console LAN can be found here.

Hope to see you this coming Saturday, June 18th at the EMU Student Center!
