Aside from their involvement with Gamers for Giving, Red Bull has been taking large steps to help progress the video game scene – recently sponsoring competitive gaming team “Status Quo,” and also producing a new series of invite-only events called the “Red Bull LAN.” Streamed through RedBullusa.com/LAN, the events bring together some of the world’s best gamers for intensive training sessions that help take their gaming abilities to the next level. With access to an incredible amount of resources, players engage in highly focused competitive training sessions, analyzing game play and making adjustments to their strategies during the course of a weekend. Red Bull will be streaming their next LAN event from New York City the weekend after Gamers for Giving, June 24th – 26th, over at Redbullusa.com/LAN. The ECA provides a number of discounts and benefits to its members, and also represents the voice of game consumers in State and Federal legislation issues relevant to the video game industry. Registration for free memberships to The ECA can be found along the right side of the video game section of Red Bull’s website here.

Statistically speaking, we see the majority of attendee sign ups during the final week leading up to Gamers for Giving. As a thank you to those on the early end of this week’s registration rush, we’d like to extend the following special promotional offer –

The first 20 Halo Reach / Black Ops participants to register and pre-pay between now and Thursday will receive free seats for their team in our BYOC console LAN.

If you’re competing in Halo Reach or Call of Duty, and you want to keep your skills sharp throughout the day, or not have to worry about grabbing a warm up station – this is the perfect way to give yourself an extra edge over your opponents. The console LAN will have room for 100 individuals. Not only will you be able to stay fresh throughout the day, you’ll be able to enjoy games with other attendees and also play with some of this year’s special guests.

If this is an opportunity that interests your team, here’s what you’ll need to do…

+ Register your Halo Reach / Call of Duty team and pre-pay between now and Thursday (select ‘Checkout using Paypal’)

+ Post in our LAN Seating chart thread your team name, followed by the seats you’d like to reserve for your team.

We’ll be keeping a close watch on our registration to identify which lucky teams make the cut. As soon as the 20th give-away seat has been taken, we will post an update sharing the news. If your team does not make the cut, you can still register as normal to participate in the console LAN.

If your team has selected to ‘pay at the door,’ and you would like to take advantage of this offer, simply re-register your team and pre-pay.

Information on our console LAN can be found here.

Hope to see you this coming Saturday, June 18th at the EMU Student Center!

Co-hosting our first Gamers for Giving streamathon alongside the crew of Focus Fire will be Gamers Outreach content director and professional gaming coach, Andy “Bravo” Dudynsky.

Perhaps best known as the coach of Complexity Gaming’s professional Halo Reach team, Triggers Down, Bravo could be considered a modern day renaissance man of competitive gaming.

Beginning in 2005, Bravo has been involved with the MLG Pro Circuit since his junior year of high school. After attending a few events, Bravo quickly caught the competitive gaming bug, and started coaching at MLG Charlotte in 2007. By the next event, he had already been recruited by a pro Halo team. He’s never looked back.

Having led teams to multiple tournament victories, Bravo has helped re-define the role of coaches within competitive gaming. Aside from fulfilling the role of coach, Bravo has served as a type of video gaming PR / management / marketing hybrid for the teams he’s been a part of. Throughout numerous gaming seasons and events, he has been able to secure a number of endorsements from various companies for both himself and his team. He has helped to produce content for IGN, Hot Pockets, and most recently, Sony Ericsson. He is arguably one of the most successful competitive gaming coaches to date, and continues to set a positive example for individuals aspiring to reach the top tiers of competitive gaming.

Bravo became involved with Gamers Outreach in late 2010, and has been helping us produce content surrounding our various initiatives and activities over at GamersOutreach.org

“My main passion for charity work comes from my faith and constant desire to help others and do more with gaming than just promote “Bravo.” There are tons of opportunities to use gaming for good, and Gamers Outreach truly embodies the spirit of charity, giving, and volunteering with their unique projects and passionate staff. Plus, GOF is well known and respected within the competitive gaming community.”

When asked about his feelings on attending this year’s Gamers for Giving, Bravo had this to say -

“This will be my first time attending the event, and I could not be more pumped. Every year I check out the photos, videos, and articles and am so impressed with the attendance and support. With backing from Astro Gaming, Red Bull, and GUNNAR, it’s obvious why GFG is the place to be this weekend. I can’t wait to meet hundreds of awesome gamers who are willing to play for a cause greater than their own. See you guys there!”

Ever the marketing man, Bravo recommends you “Stay up to date with pics, vids, and tweets from Gamers for Giving at twitter.com/BravoMLG”

Don’t worry Bravo, you’ve got our follow .

Gamers for Giving attendees will have the chance to meet Bravo this Saturday, June 18th at the EMU Student Center.

Having made a name for himself as one of the world’s best competitive Call of Duty players, Gamers for Giving attendees will have the opportunity to meet and play with Mike “Hastr0” Rufail from Team EnVyUs.

Boasting an incredible record of 1st place finishes and other top 5 placements, Hastr0 has helped head up arguably one of the most successful teams thus far in the history of competitive Call of Duty. Since 2007, the team he’s been a part of has competed in every major online event and LIVE LAN, and is one of the only teams in the world to qualify for the MLG National Championships for the past 3 seasons.

Having attended Gamers for Giving 2010, Hastr0 has made a substantial personal effort to make charity work a part of his life. Having assisted us with streamathons from his team’s Justin.TV account – Hastr0 has been a part of Gamers Outreach activities since first learning about our efforts.

“I’m extremely excited to be attending Gamers for Giving 2011. This event isn’t just about competitive gaming, but also about helping others. That’s what makes it so important to me.”

Gamers for Giving attendees will have the chance to play games with Hastr0 throughout the day during our “Play the pros” activity – located outside the main ballroom of the event.

We hope to see you on June 18th at EMU!
